My work is in oils that have a soft touch with many contrast of color and texture. I start with a scene that looks like something that has to be painted and strikes a mood in my eyes and heart and is transferred to the canvas.
For as long as I can remember I have loved art and creating. I spent many years working on my own with little training. I focused hard on drawing, studying from books, and by taking an occasional class here and there. Then I started some home study art courses, and learned about the "wet on wet" style of painting as is so popular on TV.
In 2005, I started painting from life in my studio. In 2006, I joined OPAS and began to paint en plein air, something that I have always wanted to do. I have taken workshops and watched others paint till I have created my own style. This past year with OPAS has got me hooked on plein air painting - for life.
